Hiring John Knox

How to Hire Me

Thanks for your interest. Because I maintain only 3-5 active advisory engagements at a time, I need to qualify inquiries before scheduling calls.

How I Help

I'm a technology-alignment architect for scaling medtech and healthtech companies. I diagnose the hidden misalignments between engineering strategy, customer needs, and business vision that prevent products from reaching their potential.

My core expertise:

  • Diagnosing why scaling products fail in market (hint: it's rarely the technology)
  • Technology architecture reviews and technical due diligence
  • Engineering team assessment and process optimization
  • iOS development and BLE hardware integration
  • Board advisory for medtech and B2B SaaS companies
  • Early-stage investment and acquisition due diligence

I diagnose before prescribing. Every engagement starts with 50 questions before 1 recommendation.

Advisory Engagements

All advisory work begins with a micro-consultation. This ensures we're a fit before committing to deeper engagement.

I prioritize founders at scaling medtech and healthtech companies who've hit product-market fit but are experiencing growth friction—overwhelmed engineering teams, roadmaps disconnected from customer feedback, or cash burning on features nobody uses.

Full-Time Employment

If you're exploring a full-time role, please include the base salary range you've budgeted. If significant equity, bonuses, or profit-sharing are part of the package, list those separately.

I won't schedule calls without budget clarity. This isn't arrogance—it's respect for both our time. Most opportunities don't require my level of experience, and I may be able to refer you to someone who's a better fit.

Please also share why you believe my specific expertise matches this opportunity.

A Note on Recruiters

No third party represents me. I don't work through contracting firms, and no recruiters are authorized to represent me to clients. If someone claims to have me on staff, they're misrepresenting their capabilities.
